Requests From The Ryotei

Please refrain from loud conversations. We hope that our guests will enjoy their meal in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

When taking photos or videos, please be careful not to include other guests in there.

Please refrain from unnecessarily getting up and moving around in your seat or standing around talking.

Smoking is not permitted inside the restaurant. Smoking is not permitted near the entrance of the ryotei either. Electronic cigarettes are also prohibited in the restaurant.

Please refrain from being barefoot when using the small seats and tatami rooms.

Please refrain from bringing in food and beverages to maintain a safe eating and drinking environment.

1. About the outfit, personal belongings, and payment
- Are there any restrictions on outfits?
- We don't have a dress code.
- Would it be all right to be barefoot?
- For hygienic reasons, we ask that you wear socks or stockings in the tatami room and raised tatami-floored seating area.
- What types of credit cards do you accept?
- We accept VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Diners, AMEX, and UnionPay.
- Do you accept payments in foreign currencies? (Dollars, Yuan, etc.)
- Payment in foreign currency is not accepted. For cash, only Japanese yen is accepted.
- May I pay by invoice?
- We do not accept invoice payments.

2. About reservations, changes, and cancellations
- Can the number of people be changed on the day of the reservation?
- For reservations for seating only, we can accommodate you if there is space available. If you make a reservation for a meal, a fee may be charged depending on the change.
- I will be more than 30 minutes late due to a flight delay. Is my reservation still valid?
- We may be unable to secure a seat due to the congestion on the day of the reservation.
- May I change the menu to something different from what I reserved?
- We can accommodate you if you contact us one day in advance. We cannot accept changes on the day of the reservation.
- May I make a reservation for live squid?
- We do not accept reservations in advance. Please check the status of the arrival when you visit the restaurant.
- I forgot to make a reservation. Will I be charged a 100% cancellation fee?
- We may charge a cancellation fee by our cancellation policy.
- Several group members will be about 30 minutes late, can you accommodate them?
- Yes, however, we may not be able to serve food closer to the end of business hours.

3. About food and drinks
- May I take home leftover food?
- You cannot take leftover food home.
- May I bring alcohol?
- You cannot bring your alcohol.
- May I order additional sashimi on the same day?
- Same-day orders are available but may not be available due to the status of the arrival.
- May I order additional course meals?
- You cannot add a course meal, but you can order an individual item from the menu.
- How many kinds of sake do you have?
- We have 12 kinds of sake. (As of 2025)
- Do you have any recommendations for souvenirs?
- We recommend “Ryotei No Dashi” (Ryotei’s soup stock), “Uni Hishio” (sea urchin and soy sauce), and “Mentai Nori” (cod roe and seaweed), which all can be stored at room temperature.
- Would you accommodate allergies?
- We may be able to accommodate your request. Please contact us for details.

4. How to spend time inside the restaurant
- If I arrive early, can I enter the restaurant?
- There is no waiting area. You can enter 15 minutes before your reservation.
※We are unable to show you before the restaurant opens.
- May I visit the fish tank and select live fish before the meal?
- It is possible, but we may not be able to accommodate you depending on the congestion on the day of your visit.
- May I sing or dance to commemorate the visit?
- We ask that you refrain from singing and dancing in the restaurant.
- May I have a commemorative photo taken during the meal?
- Our staff will assist you in taking pictures, so please feel free to ask.
- Would you arrange a taxi for the return trip?
- We can arrange it. However, please be sure to board the taxi as soon as possible after arrival.
- May I enjoy a Japanese cultural show while eating?
- If you use a private room, it is possible to enjoy an Ozashiki experience (Japanese cultural show) by Geiko from Hakata Kenban. Please inquire for details.

5. About seating and facilities
- I reserved a tatami room. Do you have chairs for children?
- We have chairs for children.
- I cannot use chopsticks. Do you have a fork and knife?
- Available upon your request. Please let us know.
- We will be driving a rental car. Is there a parking lot?
- There are parking lots nearby, but we do not provide a parking service.
You are responsible for the cost of the parking.
- Is it possible to change to chairs when dining in the tatami room?
- We can accommodate you, but please let us know in advance. Same-day changes are subject to availability.
